Pregnancy, birth and parenthood

I know that pregnancy, birth and parenthood can be beautiful. They can also be messy, emotional, scary and overwhelming. Sometimes they are all of those things at once.

Whether this is your first pregnancy or your fourth, your first experience of parenthood, or your journey has taken a very different path from what you expected, there is no right way to feel. Pregnancy, birth and becoming a parent can look and feel completely different from one person to another. It might be straightforward or filled with uncertainty, a joyful experience or one that has been frightening, complicated or unexpected. You may be navigating a pregnancy after loss, processing a traumatic birth, or adjusting to life with your family in ways you never anticipated. Whatever your experience, your feelings are valid and deserve space to be understood.

Counselling can help when your thoughts and feelings are becoming difficult to carry on your own. It can give you space to talk honestly about the things you may not feel able to say elsewhere, whether that is fear, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, sadness, guilt, anger, disappointment or simply feeling overwhelmed by the enormity of your experiences.
